Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) assessment

Our new electronic assessment for patients with suspected Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) has standardised patient care, reduced our VTE rate and means hundreds of patients do not have to undergo unnecessary scans and treatment.

  1. We reduced the VTE rate from 411 in 2016 to 333 in 2017
  2. We were awarded VTE exemplar status and received a full CQIN payment attached to the improved management of VTE patients
